#tech issue

I can't... access any messages? Idk why but any account I log into with my main email I just can't see messages from. Like, I can't use discord, can't use messages on tumblr, can't use messages on reddit... this started like a month ago, is there something wrong with my email?

Okay you guys, I don't know what to do about this silly problem and it's getting a little bit annoying for me.

If you've sent me an ask, know that I have actively seen it in my notifications and I want to respond. Truly, truly. You guys are the best and I can't believe the sheer number of you that want to talk to little ol' me.

However.

My asks are broken again.

It starts off with the initial number I think I have, (mostly kissing booth requests and I love you all for it. So many kisses, and I can't wait to write them), and then it only shows 20.

I click in there, and it doesn't even load. Like it does the little circle rotaty-loady thing and it refuses to load, and then I click back and it shows 20.

But when it does load for me, I have a little bit of a pitter patter of my heart about the ideas you guys have and what you want to see written! I have no idea what to do aside from signing out, signing in, deleting it, redownloading it and hoping it doesn't do the same thing again.

I am doing my absolute best in attempting to keep track of fics, ficlets, drabbles and those of you who just want to chat about your day, and talk your ideas through. It's just super frustrating about the tech issue. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If you've sent me an ask that you've written to me months ago and I finally answer it with a fic, I'm truly sorry for the delay. I assure you, I am getting through them!

I am also still on holiday, and will be returning home and settling in later this week. Maybe chef-husband can sort it out (or his hetero life-mate of a best friend who is an absolute champion in all things tech).

Just thought I'd let you know it's not you, it's not me, it's Tumblr. Gosh, I feel like the elderly grandparent asking their adult grandchild how to get the firefoxes to work with the google gmail dot com.

if anyone knows how to fix the "can't play video" error on google photos please help, we tried playing the video in a different app and even tried using vlc media player, but its not working and we're having a hard time finding other options. we've had the error so many times before but this time it is incredibly serious and we need the videos

If i were to return to make ppgxmmd content i believe it would be when i can get an actual pc or like later on when i can..two things i am busy irl i don't have time or the energy to invest into doing mmd around this time and the second thing is my laptop has windows 10 if you know the issue with that software you can understand the horrendous struggles of owning it, however if you want to know it basically goes straight to not responding, crashing random programs i open at times which ever it is, and it glitches out it happens out of the blue at times not all the time thats the new thing, the other one is now it doesn't load up on time now it just takes major, major time, its slow now when i sign in.

I don't really touch my laptop at all because of that and the other main one i am just busy or just don't wanna be on it...i just wanna relax spend time with my sibling thats all and my dogs. So whenever i make the post it'll happen but in due time just when it happens i will be making it look more good on the mme side since a crud ton of interesting great effects have released that is making me want to use them so badly ♡u♡!!

Anyway i am off now...i am currently sick..so i am very weak right now...haha ...

Computer woes

Today glad it's just Ram problem! been fixed for now yayy!

beeping sound and music has been the most distressing> first time happened while i played zoo tycoon. since game seemed to crash i uninstalled it. :S i recorded the clip sent to the repair ppl, they said it's a motherboard problem <: Gonna come next week to fix. Ive done some backup, but still hope not completely erase

Had 2 servers take a dive on me and had to recover my network information and the 50hr save file for my V Rising server.

We're back online and got the jellyfin VM working again.

This isn't something anyone should handle at 4:30am.

The Robot Uprising Began in 1979

On January 25, 1979, Robert Williams became the first person (on record at least) to be killed by a robot, but it was far from the last fatality at the hands of a robotic system.

Williams was a 25-year-old employee at the Ford Motor Company casting plant in Flat Rock, Michigan. On that infamous day, he was working with a parts-retrieval system that moved castings and other materials from one part of the factory to another. 

The robot identified the employee as in its way and, thus, a threat to its mission, and calculated that the most efficient way to eliminate the threat was to remove the worker with extreme prejudice.

"Using its very powerful hydraulic arm, the robot smashed the surprised worker into the operating machine, killing him instantly, after which it resumed its duties without further interference."

A news report about the legal battle suggests the killer robot continued working while Williams lay dead for 30 minutes until fellow workers realized what had happened. 

Many more deaths of this ilk have continued to pile up. A 2023 study identified that robots have killed at least 41 people in the USA between 1992 and 2017, with almost half of the fatalities in the Midwest, a region bursting with heavy industry and manufacturing.

For now, the companies that own these murderbots are held responsible for their actions. However, as AI grows increasingly ubiquitous and potentially uncontrollable, how might robot murders become ever-more complicated, and whom will we hold responsible as their decision-making becomes more self-driven and opaque?
